BRIEF

5th Wall was given two mandates for the purposes of marketing and promoting the film Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to the international hit Fifty Shades of Grey. The first was to create an immersive 'fly on the wall' VR experience (although we prefer to call it breaking the 5th wall) of one of the most iconic scenes in the Fifty Shades trilogy, the Masquerade Ball. The second mandate was to create an interactive 360 tour of the iconic penthouse of the main male character, Christian Grey.

This shoot involved an elaborate coordination with the film's crew of over 200 cast members and extras - one of the largest coordinated VR shoots ever done. Months of work were involved in post-production to remove the labyrinth of crew members, lighting, cranes, etc. in order to create an immersive experience that was a facsimile of the actual scene in the movie, versus creating additional content outside the narrative of the film.
