BRIEF
5th Wall was given two mandates for the purposes of marketing and promoting the film Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to the international hit Fifty Shades of Grey. The first was to create an immersive 'fly on the wall' VR experience (although we prefer to call it breaking the 5th wall) of one of the most iconic scenes in the Fifty Shades trilogy, the Masquerade Ball. The second mandate was to create an interactive 360 tour of the iconic penthouse of the main male character, Christian Grey.
Christian Grey's apartment involved using a new advancement we coined as Floating Motion - taking the 360 HDR images we shot to allow seamless transition across the entire space. The hyper-realistic image editing, at the highest production grade available to maximize user feeling of total immersion, turned a film set built across 4 different unconnected lots into the illusion of a user being inside an actual apartment.
